Mostly Hard Days:
Thoughts from The Author

This children's picture book has been in the making for 10 years. In therapy sessions, as I was raising my kids or writing in my journal, I was formulating the story that would empower kids who are living through an incredibly hard disability just like the one I had for 5 years that changed my life forever.

As I began illustrating the different versions Rin that you see below, I cried tears over their skin. For the first time, I was able to see how beautiful it looked in watercolor, crayon, and digital sketches.

Mostly Hard Days is a children's book the world still needs, and I'm thankful I get to share it with you.

About Me

I'm a mom, a life-long writer and doodler, and a first-time author. As a neurodivergent queer woman who has lived with painful disabilities for a large portion of my life, I have an especially big heart for kids (and grown-ups!) who feel like they don't fit in, don't belong, or feel like they have a broken body. It turns out that being different and going through painful times is actually really normal, and sometimes we just need that reminder.
